Use the reverse shoulder roll when working out of the reverse crossguard. In this position, it’s the rear shoulder doing the work, allowing you to stay protected without freezing your movement while keeping yourself in position to counter. When you roll the rear shoulder properly, you take the sting off incoming lead hooks to the body or head and you create subtle angles without overcommitting. This keeps you fluid, defensively sharp, and ready to fire back immediately. The key is staying relaxed and coordinated, not tense and rigid.
